a FIRST mom Toddler

Raising a baby wasn't easy, let me tell you. I've certainly come to understand why FIRST birthdays are such a celebration, and often times, it's not for the baby. By year one, parents have a reason to celebrate, too: they've survived (and didn't kill anyone in the process).

For nearly two years, I was a teacher in a younger toddler room, which housed children from age one to two years. These experiences have taught me to identify a large array of needs that children have, and through my work in child care, I have been able to recognize the importance of treating each child as an individual.

Now, I have Lucas. He's funny, compassionate, cuddly, stubborn and smart, a perfect combination of me and my husband. He always has to know how things work, and be in on every conversation. I can't remember what life was like without him, and can't imagine how things could get any better...
